How long will the massage be?

My massages are designed to be 90 minutes in length. This allows time for both relaxation as well as enough time to address any therapeutic issues that may arise during the session.

The 90 minutes is your massage time. Please let me know if you wish more time spent on a specific area instead of a full body session.

I use a very fine quality lotion for the massage, and I will heat it to make it more comfortable for you.

What should I wear for my massage?

The amount of clothing to remove for the session depends upon the area being worked on and your personal level of comfort and feelings of security with the therapist. Many people wear no undergarments during a massage, since they feel they get a smoother and less restricted massage. Others leave on their lower underwear. The choice is always yours. Certain relaxing strokes such as the "shoulder to heel" half body stroke are not effective with clothing in the way. I use appropriate draping to provide you with a feeling of both security and comfort during your session. I interpret clothing as a simple way on your part to establish a boundary of what you do not want worked on.

What do you do for a pregnancy massage?

During pregnancy massages, I use an incline bolster to elevate the client in the supine position. Then I use a side lying position for the remainder of the session, with extra draping being provided. It is better for both Mom and baby that the client be in the face-up position (supine) or side-lying, rather than using a "Prego Pillow", to reduce the abdominal pressure and to prevent raised blood pressure.
